Description

Charlie Christian is considered to be the prime architect of the modern guitar style. His pioneering vision resulted in liberating the electric guitar, showing it could have a distinct voice equivalent to a clarinet or saxophone, capable of the same level of expressiveness.

Although musically active for a short time, he died when he was 25, he left behind a large body of work, mostly recorded by Benny Goodman’s Sextet. He was also a key figure in the development of bebop.
