We’ll be kicking off this year’s Huddersfield Jazz Guitar Festival at the Rat and Ratchet. The festival begins with a workshop looking at the guitar style of the godfather of modern jazz guitar, Charlie Christian. His approach to guitar inspired so many musicians that followed.

This is followed by a concert by The Charlie Christian Collective, a group of four guitars and rhythm section playing harmonised arrangements of Benny Goodman and Charlie Christian tunes.

This is followed by the legendary Gary Potter bringing his own blend of jazz and gypsy jazz styles.
